1. World Wide Waddecar – 4th July 2009

August 23, 2009 by Mike Nolan

198 Beavers Scouts, 179 Cub Scouts and 138 Leaders & helpers including the Ormskirk contingent represented by 4th, 30th, 42nd, 53rd & 56th enjoyed a fun filled link day at Waddecar. Each base had a
“Country Theme” & Ormskirk chose France. We put together varied activities including – making lavender
sprays, French jigsaws, and a French facts quiz, knock down the Eiffel Tower game & each visitor to France had the opportunity to sample a ripe French cheese!

It would have been impossible to run this base without the invaluable help and support from Di Coverdale & Ian Biggin, Leaders from 30th Beaver Colony and Fellowship members – Ann & Eric Simms, Noel & Margaret Fern, Peter Hall, Ian & Carol Flavell and Phyllis Makin. I would also like to thank Jean Draper for her endless photocopying and cutting out! The rain held off long enough for the Beavers & Cubs to board the coaches for their journey home and then the heavens
opened as Fellowship members sat down to a well earned tea under a dripping gazebo!

  2. Where can I find a Beaver Colony?

    by Ash Green

If you are looking for a Beaver Colony to place your child, you won’t have far to look in Ormskirk District.  Most Scouting Groups (and there’s at least one in each town) have Colonies, and there are many more besides.

Use the “about > map” link at the top to find contact details for all Groups in Ormskirk.
