What are Cubs?

November 15, 2008 by Webmaster

4th-cub-beaned-300x300Cubs are members of the Scouting movement, normally aged between 6 to 8 years old.  Children can join Cub “Packs” directly, or can move from a Beaver  Colony to a Cub Pack.  When they are old enough, they then move from a Cub Pack into a Scout Troop.

A Cub pack will be part of a Scouting Group, and there are many of these across the Ormskirk District.  They normally contain up to 25/30 cubs, and have several leaders, all of whom are volunteer.

Cubs do LOTS of fun games and activities, go away camping, do a lot of learning about the world and themselves.

To find the nearest Scout Group to you, use the map found on About / Map at the top of the page.  Enquiries can be made through the West Lancashire Scout County Office at office@westlancashirescouts.org.uk.

More information can be gained from the National Scouting guide for Parents http://www.scouts.org.uk/parents/
