Ormskirk Scout Shop runs from the HQ and is open twice a week during term time:
- Fridays (7.00-8.30pm)
- Saturdays (10.00am-12.00noon).
The shop will be closed during the school holidays.
The shop provides an opportunity for young people and adult volunteers to try uniform on and saves the customers any delivery costs. The shop operates a cashback scheme whereby your own Scout Group gets an annual rebate depending on the volume of monies spent in the shop! [Click here to read more about the cash back scheme.]
We stock uniform for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network, and Leaders, in a range of sizes. We also stock official merchandise including clothing, neckers, flags, books and posters. If you are looking for anything that we don’t have in stock, we are happy to order it in for you (items are usually available in two weeks, although neckers currently take up to 6 weeks).

Vacancy – Shop Manager
We are looking for a new Shop Manager to manage the effective operation of the district shop. This will involve leading a team to provide excellent customer service both in person and online, while also maintaining stock and accounts. As team leader you may share these responsibilities to others however you are responsible for them.
Main Tasks
- Managing the day to day running of the shop.
- Providing excellent customer service to customers and groups; ensuring that the shop is open for sales and collections regularly, as advertised, and maintaining good communication with customers between opening times.
- Ensuring the shop is adequately staffed by recruiting, training, supporting and managing the shop team and maintaining the volunteer rota.
- Promoting the shop, digitally, and in person, informing member, parents and volunteers of the items stocked and encouraging patronage.
- Ensuring sufficient stock to meet customer expectations. Ordering new stock and special orders promptly as required. Working with the shop team to identify and procure new products as needed.
- Maintaining the shop accounts including arrangements of payments for purchases and organisation of payments for purchases and organisation of periodic stock checks to provide assurance on value of stock carried.
- Arranging maintaining of physical infrastructure of the shop when required.
